포윈즈가 이런 곳이라니. 어머니가 입이 마르게 칭찬하시긴 했지만 이렇게 아름다운 곳인 줄 몰랐습니다. 찬란한 색감과 풍경을 가진 매력적인 곳이네요! 여기서 지내다 보면 말처럼 튼튼해질 것 같아요. 이곳에서 영감을 받아 캐나다를 배경으로 한 역작을 쓸 수 있을 것 같습니다.

아이디어가 잡힐 듯 말 듯한 곳에 숨어서 애플 태우다가 사라져 버리곤 합니다. 이렇게 평화롭고 사랑스러운 곳에 있다 보면 곧 포착할 수 있겠죠.

그녀는 싸구려 크림색 면 원피스 차림이었다. 레슬리는 늘 진홍색으로 된 무언가를 몸에 지녔다. 예전에 앤에게 자기는 꽃 한 송이라도 좋으니 몸에 붉은색을 지니고 있어야 마음이 편하다고 고백한 적이 있었다. 앤은 붉은색이 잔뜩 억눌려 있으나 속에서 활활 타오르는 레슬리의 본성을 상징한다고 느꼈다.
